When Things Are Out Of Order

May 27, 20253 min read

In the fast-paced world of business, it’s easy to assume that everything is fine—until one small crack in the foundation causes the entire structure to tremble. Whether it’s a breakdown in leadership, a failed partnership, or a moral compromise, when things are out of order, the ripple effect can be devastating.

And in today’s society, we’re seeing this truth play out in real time.

The Domino Effect of Disorder

You’ve probably seen headlines: companies folding overnight, layoffs happening in the thousands, and communities devastated. But what really caused it? Often, it wasn’t because the product failed or the idea lacked value. It was because something internal broke—a lack of integrity, poor communication, or unresolved conflict at the leadership level.

When even one or two partnerships fall apart, the aftershocks don’t just affect the executives—they touch the lives of everyday workers. People lose jobs. Families are impacted. Dreams are delayed. And all because something was out of alignment.

This is the danger of building without order.

A Broken Chain of Trust

Look at today’s job market. One major corporation falters, and entire departments are dissolved. The IT guy, the receptionist, the single mom in accounting—they all pay the price for decisions made in high-level meetings they weren’t even invited to.

Why? Because disorder at the top always trickles down.

This isn’t just a business principle—it’s a spiritual one.

Biblical Insight: One Man’s Sin, A Nation’s Pain

Let’s go back to Joshua 7. Israel had just experienced victory at Jericho, but when they went to battle at Ai, they were defeated. Joshua was confused—how could they lose when God was with them? The answer came quickly: one man—Achan—had disobeyed God’s command by keeping forbidden treasure.

Because of Achan’s disobedience, the entire nation suffered. Innocent soldiers died, and momentum was lost. All because one person operated out of order.

Sound familiar?

In the same way, your business, your organization, even your ministry can suffer if hidden sin, disorder, or unaddressed issues are allowed to remain. What’s in the background affects the foreground. What’s underground determines whether the house will stand.

Bringing Clarity Back to Chaos

If you’re seeing disruption in your business or brand, pause and ask:

1. Where is the disorder?

Is there a breach in trust? A misalignment in values? A financial practice that’s not in integrity?

2. Who is involved?

Are you partnered with someone who doesn’t share your vision or who sows confusion instead of clarity?

3. What needs to be corrected or surrendered?

Achan’s sin had to be exposed and removed before Israel could move forward. What in your business must be brought into the light?

God’s Order = God’s Blessing

1 Corinthians 14:33 says, For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.

Where there’s confusion, miscommunication, and chaos, God is calling you to bring things back into divine order.

That may mean:

Letting go of a partnership that’s holding you back.

Reestablishing boundaries in your work life.

Praying over your business decisions instead of relying solely on analytics.

Creating systems that honor your clients, your employees, and God.

Build with God or Don’t Build at All

Psalm 127:1 reminds us:

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.

Don’t labor in vain trying to build something that God never ordained—or trying to salvage something He’s telling you to let go of. Get honest. Get in alignment. Get back in order.

Because when things are in divine order, blessings flow freely, peace governs your decisions, and your business becomes a vessel for Kingdom impact.
